Please don't say that...
Robot pony Turing Test tells her friend Gadget that, as a robot, she'll do whatever she's told. Even if she's told to die.

Another illustration for The Iron Horse: Everything's Better With Robots, drawn by Greenfinger.

Housekeeping!
Twilight Sparkle has found somepony spying on her, and she's tracked him to his hotel. "HOUSEKEEPING!" she bellows, breaking down the door. This spy is about to regret some things.

The scene is from my story The Iron Horse: Everything's Better With Robots! The illustration is by Greenfinger.

A Robot's Tail is Warm
This is both warm and a little embarrassing.
It's cold on the mountain. Lucky for Rainbow Dash, Turing Test's tail acts as a heat sink, so she can warm herself up. Picture by Greenfinger for my fanfic, The Iron Horse: Everything's Better With Robots!

I can't draw for beans, but I write and occasionally make a video or two. I teaching English as a Second Language in Texas, which is a situation ripe for humor. I love top hats, mixology, and tasty food. That's about it.

Maruraba When it comes to MLP: FiM, what drew you towards the series? are there any characters that you like and / or enjoy?

I first saw folks posting pony memes back in 2011-2012. I thought it was ridiculous, but the more folks talked the show up, the more my curiosity was piqued. Still, it wasn't until I heard John De Lancie was in it (and that he was playing an expy of Q, one of my favorite characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation [which is itself one of my favorite shows]) that I decided to give it a shot.

I came in during Season 2. The first episode I watched was "May the Best Pet Win," and I thought it was... eh, okay. Not as cringe-worthy as I was expecting, but nothing to write home about. So then I said, "Okay, this show is at least tolerable. Let's find this episode with De Lancie." So I did... and I was blown away by how good it actually was.
Funny, entertaining, and with just enough adult-aimed reference jokes to appeal to my geeky side (like the Star Wars homage at the end), I finally said "This show might actually be worth a shot."
I finished out the season and the rest, well, is history.

I like a ton of characters. I can't think of many that I actually dislike. But, let's see...
-Discord, obviously, as he's what drew me into the show
-Rainbow Dash, despite sometimes being an idiot and a pain in the butt, is still one of my favorites
-Pinkie, because I enjoy jokester characters
-Twilight for being a protagonist who is actively studious and intelligent
-I also have a soft spot for the CMCs, Scootaloo in particular

I could go on, but I think that ought to answer the question. Thanks for asking! :)

Given the latest chapters, and how it dabbles on politics, I'm curious on if the current social-economical political situation influenced a bit of it. I know you mentioned this arc was planned beforehand, but since it wasn't written until now, did it have any influence (or at least some tiny nudge) while writing it down?

I'm not going to judge on if or how it does, just genuinely curious.

I don't know how, but it escaped me that you asked this a while ago, so I never properly responded.

The answer is that the current political situation in the US (and the world in general) doesn't really have much to do with the story. The antagonists' motivations aren't wholly insidious, nor can they really be classified as traditionally leftist or rightist, but what makes them antagonistic is in their extremism and their headstrong conviction that, because what they are doing is"right," their actions are justified.

But no, I had that much planned out a long time ago. The recent election and current administration didn't really change those plans.

Thanks for the question, and sorry it took me so long to get back to you on it! ^^;

This incident sounds like it could've been a plot point straight out of your fic. lol

Real life is weird.

I saw that. Pretty funny, if a little sad, and a good sign that we just haven't figured out AI as well as we think we have sometimes.

Plus, if Turing started talking like that, I'm pretty sure Twilight would tear her another exhaust port. :D

How does the robot run in your story? Is it magically assisted, or just assume that the makers somehow solved the problem of walking unassisted, including balancing?

Sorry for the delayed response!

Well, Turing Test's inner workings haven't been revealed yet. It's a major plot point, in fact, that no one can figure out how such an incredibly advanced machine was built in the technologically underdeveloped nation of Equestria. Whether she functions through nothing but mechanical means or is assisted by magitech has yet to be revealed.
